Fortune Joshua is a Nigerian computer scientist and programmer. He is a founding member of The LikeMinds and has been an IT/software consultant preceding his admission into the LHO.
Fortune was born at Iyagankun in Ibadan, Oyo state, Western Nigeria, as the fifth of six children born to Joshua Fimienye Ichrene and Elfrida Awajiogak Ichrene. His father was a retired public servant, and his mother, a businessperson, both hailing from Rivers State, South-South Nigeria.
Fortune attended Army Children Primary School, Warri, and graduated from Hallel College, Port Harcourt. He then proceeded to pursue a degree course in computer science at the University of Port Harcourt. As an adolescent, he enjoyed composing songs and singing in the church choir, consequently forming the singing group “Aroma of Praise”. Later, Fortune began to develop interests in programming and started investing more in self education. As he grew into adulthood, he learnt about several philosophies, including humanism, and discovered that his main philosophy of life was in consonance with humanism. He then geared towards educating young people on the significance of self education and personal development.
Due to his deep involvement in advancing humanist values, he became a member of the American Humanist Association in 2010 and in 2013, attended a brainstorming session with Nelson Ichrene and a host of others, to discuss issues of common concern. They all discovered themselves to be a meeting of minds, which culminated into the establishment of The LHO.
