Kingsley Otu is a Nigerian writer, motivational speaker, entrepreneur and
philanthropist. He holds a B.A in Linguistics and Communication Studies from the
University of Port Harcourt. Given to multitasking, he takes special interest in
helping individuals, especially youths and young adults discover their
potentials. Together with a characteristic singing voice, he fuses motivational
speaking with life coaching and mentorship, organising success seminars across
the nation.
Born on January 16, 1987 in Ikom, Cross River state, Southern Nigeria, Kingsley
grew up in a polygamous home. His parent’s are chief Patrick Otu Onyam (a
businessman) and Rosemary Afu Owan (a Veterinary Doctor). He received his primary
education at Navy Primary School, Port Harcourt, and thereafter proceeded to
Cateville International School for his secondary education. Kingsley began to
show interest in music from early childhood. At age 10, he was incorporated into
his local church choir as one of the lead singers.
In the coming years he delved into several successful business ventures
including real estate. After having observed the rate of
deterioration of the formal educational system in Africa, he became actively
involved in creating awareness for self-education, spearheading several
advocating bodies for human capital and capacity development. In 2009, he
attended a public conference in which Nelson Ichrene was a speaker. Astounded by
Nelson's "wit and ingenuity", they exchanged pleasantries after the sessions and
went on to become allies. Over the years, their friendship became intimate and
in 2013, together with others, established the LHO.
