There is no destiny, no fate, no chance that can hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul.
Often the difference between a child and an adult is the willingness to take on responsibility; that is why we have children of 40 years (who still blame their parents for their lives) and adults of 20 years (who have assumed full responsibility for themselves). Your parents can only give you the life they can afford, but it’s up to you to give yourself the life that you want. You like to say "that's not fair"? I hate to be the bearer of bad news but life isn't fair. Nothing is fair! Get up and work! You say your parents didn’t train you in school, but have you asked who trained your parents? People become adults the moment they take on full responsibility. Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.
Stop dwelling in the past. Nobody says it was going to be easy. There is no glory in victory without running the risk of defeat!
Every successful person you know has a story. Whenever you see a successful person you only see the public glories, never the private sacrifices to reach them. You’re not the first and you won't be the last. In fact it was meant to be hard. If it wasn't hard everyone would be doing it. The hard is what makes it great! The universe has no restrictions, you place restrictions on the universe with your expectations. Stop waiting for a miracle that might never come. Bring about your own miracle! I am a great believer in luck, and I find that the more chances I take, the more often I show up, the more luck I have. You're in charge! The universe has principles. Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear. God himself had instituted the laws of nature. Take advantage of such principles of wealth creation and happiness. Yes! It isn't magic. Success is neither magical nor mysterious. There are secrets! – one of which is self education. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't. - Mark Twain
As extreme as the foregoing may sound, a close scrutiny reveals that it does hold some water. Think about this: let the most anointed prophet prophesy that you are going to be a doctor, engineer, banker or lawyer. Then sit back and sleep, play when you should be working. Relax! I mean enjoy your life, groove on and never think of going to school. Wouldn't said prophet's prophecy become null and void? It would. But does that change God from being God? Of course not! The point is that if you do not get up and seek college admission, study hard for your exams, do most of your assignments, complete all your courses, thereby paying the price for success, your supposed prophecy will fail, and woefully so!
Get up and work! Set goals and dare to fail. People with clear, written goals accomplish far more, and in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine. If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy and inspires your hopes. Take risks and dare to fail! You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Great people are created from great mistakes that are learnt from, not from great successes that are gloated upon. Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly. Only those who dare to go far can possibly find out how far one can go. People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do. Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines. When other birds run into hiding because of a storm, the eagle is excited.
Do not be scared of failure; success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm! Disappointment and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success and a successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at them. Even if something has only a 1% chance of being successful, your success depends on how quickly you exhaust the 99% failure. Nothing in the world is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Talent is overrated. Talent is not enough! Often the difference between a successful person and a failure is not one has better abilities or ideas, but the courage that one has to bet on one’s ideas, to take a calculated risk – and to act.
Life is inherently risky. There is only one big risk that you should avoid at all cost. And that is the risk of doing nothing. According to Mark Zuckerberg, "The biggest risk is not taking risks. In a world that's changing really quickly, the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks." You can't risk nothing; if you risk nothing, you have risked everything! Do it already!
